A Holiday Message from DeKalb Democrats’ Acting Chair

A Holiday Message from DeKalb Democrats’ Acting Chair

As we celebrate this most unusual of holiday seasons, I just wanted to take this opportunity to express my gratitude, on behalf of the DeKalb Dems’ Executive Committee, for everything each of you has done for the general and now the runoff election here in DeKalb County and across Georgia.

The sacrifices people are making, the long hours, the time away from loved ones over these past months–these are the types of actions that will save our democracy. I am so honored to serve with such a talented and passionate team of people.

Even as many of us remain physically separated from family this holiday season, we have reason to look forward with hope: vaccinations have started, we will have a President in a little over a month who recognizes “a duty to care” about people, and we have the chance to elect two Senators in Georgia who could empower our government to finally offer real relief from the crushing effects of this pandemic. I don’t know about you, but I’m really looking forward to hugging people again.

Please take a break over the next couple of days and enjoy the company of loved ones, even if virtually, and recharge for the final stretch. We have 12 days left until the election. We can do this. The entire country is behind us.

Peace and Love to you and yours,

Karen Mixon

Acting Chair/First Vice Chair, DeKalb Dems
