DeKalb County Democrats Condemn Violence and Ask Republicans to Join Them

The DeKalb County Democratic Committee is calling on elected officials, both Democrats and Republicans, to condemn violence. We condemn the death threats and threats of sexual violence targeted at State Senator, Elena Parent (D-Decatur) for publicly questioning President Donald Trump’s unsubstantiated allegations of voter fraud on Thursday, December 3rd. State Senator Parent’s has had her phone and home address released, causing her to request police protection.

The Georgia Secretary of State’s office has overseen the audit and recount of Georgia’s ballots three times. Each time, the Secretary of State declared President-Elect Joe Biden the winner. Dismissing these results, Senator Kelly Loeffler and Senator David Perdue backed a Texas lawsuit to overturn the legal results in Georgia, exacerbating tension and extremism.

The DeKalb County Democratic Committee urges all elected officials to condemn violence and bring an end to the unsubstantiated allegations of voter fraud.
